What is the difference between Microblading, Ombre Brows, and Micropigmentation?
- Microblading creates natural, hair-like strokes for a soft and realistic look.
- Micropigmentation implants pigment deeper into the skin, lasting longer and providing a fuller appearance. This can include the following techniques:
- Ombre Brows offer a powdered effect with a gradient finish for more definition.
- Nano Brows is achieved with a semi-permanent technique using a fine needle to create precise hair-like strokes for natural, fuller brows. It is suitable for most skin types and provides long-lasting realistic results.
- Combination Brows combines hair strokes with either microblading or tattoo needle for the front of the brow, along with shading between the strokes to add fullness and definition. This creates a natural defined look with a soft powdery effect, and can be tailored to your preference using either method for the hair strokes.
How long does the treatment take?
The procedure typically takes 2-3 hours, including consultation, shaping, and application.
Does eyebrow PMU hurt?
We apply a numbing cream before and during the procedure to ensure minimal discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching feeling.
How long do the results last?
Eyebrow PMU can last 12-24 months, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
What is the healing process like?
Your brows may appear darker for the first 3-5 days, followed by light scabbing and fading as they heal over 4-6 weeks. A touch-up session is recommended after 6-8 weeks for best results.
Is there any downtime?
There’s no major downtime, but you should avoid excessive sweating, swimming, and makeup on the brow area for the first 10-14 days to ensure proper healing.
Can I get PMU if I have previous brow tattoos?
If you have existing tattooed brows, we’ll assess whether PMU is suitable for you. Some cases may require laser removal or correction.
Who is not suitable for eyebrow PMU?
PMU is not recommended if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have active skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea) in the brow area • Have
- Diabetes
- Have Auto-immune disease
- Are on blood-thinning medications
- Are on Roaccutane medication
- Have undergone recent Botox or filler (wait at least 2 weeks)
How do I prepare for my appointment?
- Avoid caffeine, herbal tea, ibuprofen and alcohol 24 hours before
- Stop using retinol and exfoliants on the brow area for a week
- Arrive with bare skin (no makeup or skincare on the brows)
How often do I need touch-ups?
A first touch-up is recommended after 6-8 weeks. Maintenance touch-ups are suggested every 12-18 months to keep your brows looking fresh.
